We are Calvary Christian College - situated in Townsville, we are a co-educational independent school providing excellence in Christian education to over 1,100 students from our Early Learning Centre through to Year 12.

The Opportunity
We have multiple vacancies available for passionate and experienced Primary Classroom Teachers to join our Team due to growth and to assist in covering Team on Parental Leave. Opportunities include both Permanent and Fixed-Term options, beginning in Term 2, 2025.

The role of a Primary Classroom Teacher is to provide quality instruction within the College’s Christian worldview and in accordance with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA requirements.
Core duties:
- Understand the philosophy of Christian Education and translate it into practice in the classroom, playground, office and staffroom.
- Plan and prepare effective, quality teaching and learning programs and practices, which are consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and the College’s pedagogical framework and policies.
- Create a nurturing and engaging learning environment, which is inclusive, learner-centered and academically stimulating.
- Add value to the educational experience by initiating and leading curricular and extra-curricular activities which provide excellent opportunities for students to develop Christian character and grow to their full potential intellectually, physically, spiritually and socially.

Remuneration and Benefits
As a Primary Classroom Teacher at Calvary Christian College, you will receive an above-Award Full-Time salary between $88,000 and $117,000 per annum pending experience, and a range of great additional benefits, including:

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a current Queensland Teachers Registration.
As a Primary Classroom Teacher at Calvary Christian College, you will have experience which demonstrates excellent, current classroom teaching techniques and practices that meet diverse needs and learning styles of students and are consistent with relevant curriculum and policies.
You will have:
- Ability to create a culture of learning and achievement through effective planning, student management, classroom resource organisation and engaging learning strategies.
- Exemplary professional manner, interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- Patience and a high degree of understanding and compassion.
- Enthusiastic desire and resolute commitment to actively contribute to the culture and values of the College.
- Proficient level of computer literacy with proven capacity in MS Office Suite, and other software/programs in common use for education.
