The Calvary Education Group encompasses Calvary Christian College, Calvary Early Learning Centre, Calvary OSHC, Calvary Teaching School, and Eaton College, a special-purpose educational facility for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We are a close-knit education community - on one site in beautiful Mt Louisa, Townsville - we provide a strong educational and social foundation for our students, and provide connection for our community.

Eaton College opened it's doors on July 10, 2023 with 15 students in year levels from Prep to 4. The full capacity of Stage 1 caters for up to 40 students with class sizes at a maximum of 10 students. Over time the College has the capacity to extend up to Year 10, with the addition of 40 students per additional Stage 2 and Stage 3 respectively. The maximum capacity of Eaton College is 120 students, and this is expected to be reached over a 10-year period.
Eaton College provides purpose built facilities and a learning environment to support the sensory needs and routines for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The Opportunity
Due to growth to the next stage of our plan, we have an exciting opportunity for passionate and experienced Primary Teaching Assistant to join our Team on a Permanent, Part-Time basis in 2025.
When you join Eaton College, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative Team that works together to create a nurturing and successful holistic learning environment. The role of Teaching Assistant is to provide support to teaching team and students in the effective delivery of quality education for students with Autism.
Core duties:
- Provide quality in-class support of students under the direction of a teacher.
- Assist teachers with the preparation of teaching materials and modification of resources to suit learners needs.
- Provide one-to-one and small group tuition under teacher supervision and direction.

Remuneration and Benefits
As a Primary Teaching Assistant at Eaton College, you will receive an above-Award salary between $29.53 and $36.41 per hour pending qualifications and experience, and a range of great benefits, including

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a current positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
As a Primary Teaching Assistant at Eaton College, you will have:
- Experience in working with students with Autism.
- Patience and a high degree of understanding and compassion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and colleagues, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff in a classroom environment.
Appropriate qualifications and expertise, including a Certificate III in Educational Support or equivalent, and knowledge and experience relevant to the role are desirable.
