About the role...

At Calvary Christian College, music is highly valued as an important part of student life, this is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and skilled Casual Brass Tutor to support and inspire our student musicians commencing from Term 1, 2027

The role of Performing and Creative Arts Tutor (PACA tutor) is to contribute to the life of the College by providing high-quality instrumental music lessons to individual and small groups of students. Working under the direction of the PACA Coordinator, the role supports student skill development, performance readiness and musical progression from beginner to advanced levels. Through structured lesson delivery and progress monitoring.

Salary and Benefits...

As a Casual Brass Tutor, you will receive a competitive above-Award hourly rate of $58.50 to $62.50 per hour, based on your qualifications and relevant experience.

What we are looking for?

It this role it is essential that you hold a current positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and relevant experience

You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience as a Brass Tutor and Music Educator.
  • Strong musicianship, including music literacy and the ability to adapt, arrange and interpret music as required.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and positively within a team environment.
  • A passion for developing students' confidence, musical skills and enjoyment of music.
  • A commitment to supporting and contributing to a vibrant and growing performing arts culture within the College.
  • Proven ability to build positive and professional relationships with students, parents and colleagues, working in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner.
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications or willingness to obtain.
  • As a Christian College, we seek applicants who actively support our Christian mission - as a preference, our ideal candidate will be able to provide a Pastoral Reference.
