From Firewalls to Future-proofing: Fixed-Term IT Manager position now available!
Calling all current Team Members! The College currently has a Fixed-Term IT Manager opportunity commencing 20 October 2025 and ending on 30 January 2026.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing the day-to-day duties of the IT Team to ensure high quality services are delivered to the wider College community in accordance with the College’s value of excellence.
- Managing the ongoing maintenance and replacement of IT assets to maximise the lifespan and efficiency of equipment and minimise infrastructure downtime.
- Supporting end-to-end delivery of IT projects and IT components of Capital Works projects in consultation with relevant stakeholders throughout the College.
- Managing IT Team recruiting, role-specific training, communication of job expectations, and the annual Professional Appraisal Process.
- Manage workflow software to ensure IT Department service requests are swiftly completed in a cost-effective manner.
- Maintain the IT Department budget in consultation with the Business Manager.
- Investigate and implement hardware, software, and IT infrastructure, in consultation with administrative and educational leaders, that is responsive to the needs of the College community and in accordance with the College’s Strategic Plan.
- Audit and assess IT infrastructure and systems, identifying problems and implementing strategic solutions in timely manner.
- Develop, document and maintain IT policies and procedures that ensure operational continuity and compliance with relevant requirements.

You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT field.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in networking, hardware & software.
- Proven experience and knowledge of all currently supported Windows and Apple desktop operating systems and mobile iOS operating systems.
- Senior level experience and knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy and File Share configuration.
- Senior level experience and knowledge with Microsoft 365 cloud platform.
- Knowledge and experience working with Virtualisation and Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI).
- Solid knowledge and understanding of networking topologies such as TCP/IP, firewalls, routing and switching configurations.
- Well-developed analytical and lateral thinking abilities.
- Organisational and time management skills including the ability to cope with high volumes of work, changing priorities and meeting critical deadlines.
- Leadership and management skills to effectively manage a small team and departmental resources.

- This role will be Fixed-Term, Full-Time.
- Commencing Monday, 20th October 2025 finishing Friday, 30th January 2026.
- Agreed Salary (as negotiated with the Business Manager).
