The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time (Term-Time only) passionate and experienced Metalwork and Woodwork enthusiast to support our students as a Technology Centre Teaching Assistant starting immediately! No more early mornings or FIFO stints, or find your ideal role to tinker in the workshop without the pressure of full-time hours - this role will be for 30 hours term-time only and during school hours.

Looking for more than 30 hours a week or to also include work during the school holidays? Possible options for additional hours assisting other Teams across the College such as Maintenance or Operations - putting your skills to good use and boosting your take-home pay!

The role of Technology Centre Teaching Assistant is to support the delivery of curriculum and activities in Design Technology (Woodwork and Metalwork) by providing high level support to Design Technology Teachers.

Core duties include:

• In-class support of students who require more individualised assistance with one-to-one and small group tuition under supervision and direction from the Teaching Team.
• Assist teachers in preparing the workshop and materials for lessons.
• Ensure cleanliness and organisation of Technology Centre.
• Complete routine maintenance on all tools and machinery in the workshop, repairing or arranging for repair as required.
• Complete regular stock takes and assist in ordering of equipment and supplies.

Remuneration and Benefits

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a current positive Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card).  

As a Technology Centre Teaching Assistant at Calvary Christian College, you will also have:

• Demonstrated experience in in woodwork and/or metalwork.
• Ability to operate and maintain workshop tools and machines.
• Knowledge, awareness, and the ability to implement Workplace Health and Safety practices.
